  • 1 1/2 cups crushed corn flake cereal
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a medium baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, sharp Cheddar cheese and mayonnaise. Stuff jalapeno halves with the mixture.
  3. Whisk together eggs and milk in a small bowl. Place crushed corn flake cereal in a separate small bowl.
  4. Dip each stuffed jalapeno half into the egg and milk mixture, then roll in corn flake cereal to coat.
Arrange in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until filling is bubbly and lightly browned.

  1. Hey BFP, I like your recipe additions--great idea!

Have you ever had watermelons split open BEFORE they're ripe? We haven't had too much rain--could it be the heat? Only a few are doing this, but sad to see.

Thanks for your earlier reply. Already received my Twilley's seed catalog.

  2. Garden Man,

Thanks for the recipe compliment. We have had watermelons to split due to 3 reasons. Too much water, over ripe, and too much heat prior to ripening. The water inside of the melon expands due to the excessive heat and splits like a balloon. We haven't had too many to do this, but it has happened and like you said it is sad to see. I don't have any solutions other than pray.

Twilley's has been good to me and I last week I ordered seeds for cool season crops this fall which were delivered within days and I will start sowing them this weekend.
